Welcome to the Landon Pearson Centre for the Study of Childhood and Children's Rights. As a leader in the discussion on children's rights, the Landon Pearson Resource Centre (LPRC) has facilitated the development of initiatives and projects dedicated to the advancement and betterment of the lives of children. With this is mind, the LPRC will act as a gateway for the engagement of people of all ages, who share the common love for children's rights.
Current initiatives include: Shaking the Movers; CRAN; the North-South Partnership; and International Standards Council. The LPRC website also includes an inventory of the materials produced by Landon Pearson during her years in The Senate of Canada (in English and French), which include the regular publication of Children on the Hill.
National Child Day marks an important day of celebration for the LPRC. Celebrated on November 20 of each year, and proclaimed by Act of Parliament, the date marks the occassion when Canada adopted the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The day is an important opportunity for Canadians from sea to sea to sea to celebrate and promote children's rights.
